Municipal magnificence.
The beds of primula are looking very zingy at the moment. This is Mowbray park. I walk through it every time I go to town. The park had a millions of pounds refurb a couple of years ago. The lions have always been a feature further down the park but are new here. Before the lion was a lurcher type dog but vandals knocked its head off. Most people who have lived in Sunderland all their lives have a photo of themselves on the back of a stone lion- one of the original ones- click here to see it blipped in December
