A day in the garden

We spent much of today working in the garden - and what a pleasure it was as it was not too hot or too cold, there were no midges and no hayfever and it was joyful to be out in the fresh air.

We emptied the compost from one of the bins, split and moved plants, planted up a new bed, used the flame-gun to 'weed' the paths, cut up some logs, planted some seeds and tidied many other corners.

This guinea fowl, made in Zimbawe from old oil drums, was peaking out from behind the fritillarias in the dappled sunlight.
