Way Out West
Walked out to the light house today at the very end of the Sheeps Head peninsula with Rosie and Ben. It was grey today and not a breath of wind, we walked out on the northside, the scenery is wild and dramatic, not a dwelling to be seen, just a few ruins and some old field boundaries. We sat to watch the black backed gulls and Rosie spotted some Dolphins, I heard their breath, in the still air before I saw them, maybe eight or so, the first I've seen this year!
My blip is from just about the furthest point west looking back east, where we have walked. From the lighthouse we walked back on the southside, leaving Bantry Bay behind and enjoy the views of Dunmanus Bay and Mizen peninsula, it's a nice loop. Rounded off a great walk with rhubarb pie, cream and an enormous pot of tea at Bernie's cafe, delicious!
