Crocodile of Christchurch choirboys
Spotted this crocodile en route to the cinema with Arachne.
We went to see Michael Winterbottom's film Trishna - it's a version of Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles set in Rajasthan. It's a sharply observed portrayal of modern India (far more spot on than the Marigold Hotel film) and with Winterbottom's characteristic bold and brilliant film making it's to be thoroughly recommended. The film's story isn't all that close to the story of Tess but that doesn't matter, Winterbottom carries you along on a journey that takes you twisting this way and that, questioning your expectations, until you find yourself reeling at the shocking ending. That's enough said, I thoroughly recommend it!
More India backblipping here.
