On the rails
Staying in Boot in Eskdale meant that we were very near 'Ratty' - the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
We headed down to Ravenglass on the railway which was much fun. A quick look around Ravenglass showed to it be most disappointing, as I had high hopes of it after reading the 'A Dream of Eagles' novels by Jack Whyte.
A walk up to Muncaster Castle before taking the train back home again.
As Ratty is a narrow gauge railway that only does about 20mph the walks along the foot of Muncaster Fell cross it regularly. I don't suppose it would be possible to get a shot like this on a mainline railway in the UK these days!
