wild anemone in the woodland

Next to Piggotts Bottom is Georges Hayes Nature Reserve. This morning the light was perfect and I went to check out the wild flowers.

The most spectacular were the wild white anemones.
hiding deep in the woods

The single bloom is worth a look in large too.

There were also beautiful wild daffodils, some bluebells, lots of celandines and a
bed of primroses

the light in the woods was marvellous

and nearby
even the rapeseed fields were crazily early

Contrary to the growing rumour, I do not stalk ladybirds :-)

But I can't resist taking their pictures, even when they are deep in the woods

what's this harlequin doing in our native woodland ?

and a pure English ladybird taking the sun
