Umbrella danger

This morning Sue, Charlie Dog and I got on a train to Burnley and walked back to Blackburn on the Leeds Liverpool canal - just over 15 miles. The weather was great - sunny but cool - perfect for walking. It's a great walk - countryside and industrial heritage in equal measure with the hum of the M65 never far away.

Sue spotted this sign in Rishton. Are they worried we'd have someone's eye out? Are umbrellas a portent of bad luck to Rishtonites? Is Hyndburn council bonkers? Or are we missing something to do with the power lines above? We just don't know.
