Reflected youth

My Dad is 70 today.

Here's what he has to say.

'It's twenty to twelve and I'm fast approaching my seventieth year and feeling rather peculiar about it. I looked at myself earlier today in the full-length studio mirror and marveled at the relatively sleek and youthful image. Unseen was the whirling 70-year mindstuff of the 70-year old brainbox as it gazed upon the image in the looking-glass: I detected in my mind's eye the foolhardiness of my life but there too I perceived the heroic dimensions of the man called Daniel. I am not unhappy with this man: he deserves my consideration and compassion. He is all I am.'

I do love him very much and I thank him for being my Dad.
