Make sure you add this to the Cumbrian 'must visit' list. Not far off the M6 near Penrith. The gardens were opened to the public for the first time in decades last summer, but it is still very much 'work in progress'. A new visitor centre will open this spring. £9m is being spent restoring the fairytale Castle.
