The Hippo Garden
The saucer, hippos and pebbles were a gift from my sister, Carolien many many years ago.
Every now and again, I take it out of the cupboard, wash and scrub the lot, put in fresh carrot tops (with no leaves!), give it a few drops of water daily, and watch this hippo garden take shape!
The carrot tops should never be submersed in the water, else it goes bad. A little moisture at the bottom just keeps it going.
The carrot leaves sprout forth, as seen, to give lovely greenery and almost resemble palms and water vegetation ...
I always have this little garden going when we have visitors over the holidays, the kids just love to watch the carrots growing! And it can be replaced in a moments' time and started anew.
This garden is now three days old, and another blip in a few days' time will reveal the growth of the hippo garden.
Thanks to the fellow blippers for all the kind kind comments on my blips, and especially on the 100th! Much appreciated.
