The Wren

Glen Garry

I'm back home now.

This view was taken during my journey up the A9 through Glen Garry to Inverness. It is looking west at almost the half way point of the journey and as it is one of my favourite views going north, I stopped beside the road - safely - in order to take it. The loch you can see in the distance is, I think, Loch Errochty and the main road is very close here to one of its highest points known as Drumochter Summit at 459M. The drive up took about two and a half hours and it was a pleasure with the weather fine and dry and the scenery becoming more magnificent as I drove further north. The temperature, however, had dropped to 7' (rather a fall from last week's 20')

I had a very successful afternoon weeding and pruning the back garden of my son's house, as the soon to be ex-tenants were busy flitting and cleaning as they emptied each room. In the evening I drove a short distance to the home of one of my sisters-in-law for a most welcome wash, change and glass of chilled white wine prior to our meal.

This is the first of my back blips and I am off now for a bath and early night having got my two chums home from their surrogate families. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to resume comments.
