How to be grumpy
I have been over to see two friends this evening and had the pleasure of meeting 3 of their daughters. This young lady very quickly figured out that I was "OK" and so I was priviledged enough to be shown her Disney sticker collection. When we got to one of the seven dwarves - Grumpy - I said "Oh, that's me". She laughed, agreed, then very quickly corrected herself and said "No, it's Daddy". Chortle chortle.
When she reappeared in jimmy jams with her pirate towel over her shoulders I asked her if I could take a photo of her grumpy face. She said no. Then quickly corrected herself and said "Yes". She then proceeded to pose for a sequence of shots...and asked me to take on of "this face" and "this face"....you get the idea.
Wonderful children, a credit to their wonderful parents. You couldn't wish to meet two nicer people. Generous of their time, generous of spirit, always wanting to see the best in people, honest to the core and most importantly of all, amazingly resilient.
Life has thrown all sorts of rubbish at my friends, stuff that would knock most people down and they wouldn't get up again. These two carry on and still find the energy and kindness to be concerned for others and to move on day to day, no matter how difficult life is. I know how hard it is for them both and I hope they know how much they are loved and respected for who they are and how they conduct themselves.
Dignity and inspiration - I don't have to look far - I see it in you two everytime we see each other.
It was a lovely evening and I thank you for having me over - it was good to see you both and to update, and be updated, on what's going on.
Miss you both and hope to see you soon..."F" - give Grumpy (Daddy K and littley) a hug from me!!!
