Philip Island
Thank you so much for all your comments and stars on yesterdays shot. I am sorry not to have had the chance to reply and comment.
It is not difficult at all to get beautiful shots around that particular coastline but I have to say for the first time I'm beginning to think of myself as a photographer. It has been amazing to come here and be spoiled with so much opportunity.
Not so today. After a bit of a traumatic time with Jill's health again we changed plans so we could be around to help this morning and decided to go to Philip Island this afternoon to see the penguins coming up the beach at dusk. Unfortunately there is a strict no photos rule as any flash temporarily blinds the penguins and may mean they do not find their way home to their burrows (and mates and chicks). So just managed this shot across the colony and towards the beach where they come back from the sea.
Despite the more pedestrian photo today the whole experience was really magical -hundreds of tiny penguins marching up the beach and back to their homes as night fell and the stars came out.
