Fourth plinth
I wanted to blip the man who was carrying ferrets on his shoulders as he walked along the Mall - but it was too blurry.
I thought about Buckingham Palace with daffodils. Or the Horseguards returning to barracks.
But it had to be the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square. The latest sculpture in this prime display position outside the National Gallery is of a boy on his rocking horse.
"Powerless Structures. Fig. 101" by Elmgreen & Dragset shows "a child elevated to the status of historical hero, though yet he has no history to commemorate - only a future to hope for."
It is 4 metres high, cast in bronze, with a golden shine.
Lovely short break in London - and tonight we're going to see the theatre production of "War Horse".
