An Unusual View.

Belhaven Bay is normally a sun-kissed, if slightly wind swept, golden bar of sand.

It was only recently I couldn't resist blipping its awesome potential:

After our sunny spell/heat wave in the last fortnight, we were forecast snow this week.

Yeah right, we all said in unison.

Low and behold though, snow, gale force winds and driving rain pounded the shore of Belhaven today, kicking up some of the biggest swells I've seen here in years.

Just along the coast in North Berwick to conditions seemed too much for this stranded Pilot Whale, who unfortunately succumbed to Mother Nature.

I am still amazed at the raw power of Scottish weather, and how it can literally change at the drop of a hat. It seems the scores have changed:
