I only ever liked the dodgems. All the other rides involved height and speed, both of which would be banned if I had anything to do with it.
And then there was the local newspaper headline that told us that the bloke who owned the dodgems was allegedly involved with something violent and scary. After that, I never went to the fairground again.
I was delicate as an 8 year old.
