Turning Point

Beluga

I set my alarm for 6am this morning in order to prepare for my brother Alistair coming. His work as an airline pilot has brought him to Jo'burg and he decided to fly a little further south to spend some time with us. Unfortunately, all the domestic flights were full because of Easter so he waited for hours before a flight with a spare seat became available.

While Hamish and I were at CT airport to meet A, a group of smartly dressed missionaries gathered - it seemed they were waiting for someone important as they broke into traditional song and dance when weary travellers began to emerge through the automatic arrivals door. I wondered about blipping them but didn't want to appear rude.

It was fantastic to finally see Alistair, but because of his delay, and sadly for Bow Wow, my plans for the day were scuppered. We met Russ in Long street and all squeezed into Lula the Landy to head for Beluga, a favoured spot for sushi and dim sum. None of the photos I took there turned out well, but here is Russ wearing the 'Paul Smith' shirt which he bought from a street seller in Beijing. And another.

Bow Wow was so happy to welcome us home. We chatted, sang (Eagles songs!), danced, laughed and reminisced before saying good night.
