Indian paintbrush!
I traveled to Houston on Sunday (returned on Monday) and realized that the drive is just so much more pleasant when I take Hwy 290. It's a smaller highway...takes you through Brenham (home of Bluebell ice cream...yum) among other towns...and on this particular day treated me to wildflowers galore. Bluebonnets, which you've already seen. Something yellow. Something purple. Something pink. And then these gems...Indian paintbrush. Spectacular. Fields of blue that become orange and then blue again. It made the 3 hours to Houston go by quickly...well, more quickly...as I was captivated by the beauty. Rather than any traffic.
