The region is famous for growing fruit, because of the usually mild climate and the many hours of sunshine here. The white patches are strawberry fields and most of the trees are apple, cherry and sweet chestnut with some pear and plum among them.
There are even fruit trees along the streets and nobody picks up the fruits, because people either have enough themselves or rather buy it in shops...
At the horizon is Lake Neusiedl (Neusiedler See), a steppe lake, which is no deeper than 2 metres and famous for wind surfing.
