Lavender Hill

Pre 19th century growth across south London, the area know as Lavender Hill, was in fact (not surprisingly when we used to names our streets after local features) a hill full of Lavender! Not much of it left today - Im trying hard to imagine it a la the fields of Provence, where now stands 50s and 60s flats and lock up garages.
