MISCHA AND I TOOK THE EARLY TRAIN
to Uslar, the old middle-aged town. The sky was rather grey and dark but the weather-forecast had said some bright spells could come later. In Uslar I had visited last year the butterfly-park and I thought it would be fun to come again.
But the park was closed for repairs and the other reason to choose Uslar for our trip was the hope we could see squirrels in the forests that surround the town.
We walked the hills, some steep one too. And the only thing we found there was the Solling-tower. A very high tower, it was possible to climb it, but the hight and the fact that there would be hardly a view at all, did us decide against it.
A long way back to Uslar and the railway station. The cold made us silent and the tiredness too.
In Uslar we saw on old farmer's garden, nice geometrical forms but without flowers and herbs in it, it was a poor sight. On our way there I made my blip of the old cart.
We had seen a deer for one second through the window of the train and twice a very big bird of prey above our head.
Piet Hein came to fetch us from the station, otherwise we would not have managed to climb the hill to the house. Mischa said: Do you know how long we actually have walked? And she said it was 5 hours!!
My haiku:
No use for the cart
Only a decoration
In the green meadow
And the proverb:
Nothing is so good as it seems beforehand.
