Remember

I had my passport interview today. I believe that I convinced the interviewer (Colin) that I am me, me. ;-)

I am glad I chose to go to Aberystwyth. It was a beautiful day and even the drive there along the spectacular coast road was gorgeous; more so against the backdrop of snow capped mountains.

I spent a truly wonderful day there. I am also thoroughly enjoying the anticipation of my trip to Amsterdam. I am SO excited and I am looking forward to it so very much.

This blip is of a war memorial. It is a striking monument in a most beautiful serene spot. It bears many names. It also has inscribed upon it, the words 'Dros Ryddid'.....for freedom.

I have that freedom. To travel anywhere in the world. To stand in the sunshine. To feel the joy of a wonderful day. To look to the future.

The angel seems to guard the approaches to our country, as those whose names are immortalised on the monument did before her. When I go to experience the culture and beauty of a foreign city, I will pause and give thought to all those who gave their lives to make that possible.
