Sexualization

While walking Prise in between classes, I came across this new billboard and I have to say I am very disturbed how women continue to be sexualized in popular media, depicted as passive objects for someone else's sexaul pleasure. The same can be said for men, too.

Studies in the last several years have demonstrated how sexualized images of women exacerbate violence against women and girls, as well as sexual harassment. Additionally, sexualized images of women and men have been shown to increase rates of body dissatisfaction and/or eating disorders among men, women and girls.

We have an abundance of research demonstraing the negative effects. What will it take for this society to change?
