Tasty morsel

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think this is a rather handsome slug (as slugs go).

Had a great day and tootled around the countryside with some walks in between. Would have been better had the dog not decided to do his irregular "stand off" - for an hour! He won't come back when he's in this mood, standing only yards away. He doesn't do it often but... Eventually, little by little , with us walking in the opposite direction from him, he comes closer and closer and then back in the car.

If anyone knows why a dog does this, please let me know. He's 10 now and knows he's not in trouble but has done this since we got him 8 years ago from a dog home.
