black (grey) halterneck dress

Number 4.

For my graduation. I was 22. I had to get either a black dress; a white blouse and black skirt or traditional national dress. The dress was easy. I was really chuffed with it, I got it in Monsoon. I included the shoes in the photo because they were less so. I struggled to find back size nine shoes I could wear with dress. I'd never really worn heels before and certainly not stiletto heels. But I didn't trip, I do think I was probably a bit awkward and distracted.

The ceremony seemed much more interesting than other graduations I'd been to- possibly because it was mine or possibly because they taught us to sing a song in Latin.

But it was a bit sad, because our class was divided by which faculty they belonged to, I was in science along with one other friend. So we didn't graduate as a whole. The graduation ball was before we got our results and before the graduation, I don't think we have all met up again since. Now the whole class graduate together.

I don't remember a whole lot from the time. I did much better than I expected in my degree. Other people weren't as shocked as I expected them to be and I realised (possibly for one of the first times) other people had a higher opinion of me than I did.

The dress isn't doing so well after I machine washed it by mistake. But I still like it.
