Chickadee update
Late this afternoon I finally found time to go to the park to check on the chickadees. When I stopped by the tree with the nesting hole, the only bird around was a cardinal. I waited, but none showed up, so I went on with my walk. Eventually I returned to the tree, and this time the titmice and chickadees were flitting around. Finally one chickadee landed beside the nesting hole and slipped inside. A short time later, out s/he came. BLIP! The moral of this story is that patience and persistence hit pay dirt!
