La halle du marché, Lagrasse

The Saturday morning market in Lagrasse, held in the traditional open-sided market hall, dating from medieval times. It's a small but classy kind of market selling local olive oil, honey, cheese, olives and other local produce. The baker who bakes bread for the Aude's only Michelin 3-star restaurant, l'Auberge du Vieux Puits, was there selling his excellent dark, chewy pain au levain -- worth a special trip.
