Good Friday
It's pretty normal to see Roman soldiers walking around Perth city centre on this day. A few of these crosses are erected around the city each Easter by one of the local churches.
So why is Good Friday so "good"? The death of an innocent man is nothing to be cheerful about. But because Jesus did it willingly, we don't have to be punished for our sins and are now free to have a relationship with our Creator God again. This should fill us with joy. The deed has been done but the story's not over yet...
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.
