We went to a Tenebrae (meaning shadows or darkness) service this morning in Leicester. It was very beautiful. The service consisted of the gradual extinguishing of candles whilst a series of readings were chanted. The chanting was very hypnotic and it was amazing how lovely it sounded in the church.
