Timeless

Another mono. This time it's because it seemed appropriate and also it made sense given the amount of smoke being blown across the shot. The K&ESR are running five steam engines today and tomorrow so some were in the yard with a warming fire so there was a lot of smoke. On the left-hand track you'll see the Tenterden-bound train is stopped and the engineer is scrambling to bring the water thingy to the engine; it's running backwards because it can't turn round at Northiam. The guy walking up the centre of the shot is going to pass me on the platform and open the level-crossing gates to let the train through. Check it out in loud for the details.

Of course I was there to collect Cal. He's had a couple of weeks break but was there today doing whatever it is that they do which covers him from head to toe in stinky grease and oil. Today's excitement included testing couplings using electromagnets and iron-filings and also using a grinder and a lathe and other exciting stuff. He's now clean(er) and I'm about to put the pizzas in the oven. Tonight we're watching part one of the final Harry Potter films with part two tomorrow after HXBs and before roast pork and stuff.

The weekend appears to be going well - lets keep this roll going.
