Knapdale
Set up tent at Lochgilphead this morning then went off on the bikes. We cycled along the Crinan canal, then turned off to Tayvallich. It has a lovely view from the cafe of the natural harbour. We stopped on the way back at the reserve where the trial of introducing European beavers is to go on until 2014.
We walked to where you can see the beaver activity. There are trees chewed through and evidence of a dam built by the beavers to flood the area to give them an underwater safe passage from their lodge to the main loch. You can see the result of flooding in the photo.
