Puffin

Went on a wonderfull boat trip to Puffin Island today - loads of photos of seal, mountains, razor bills, cormorants and many many photos of empty sea as the boat went up and donw while the camera was working out what to do AFTER I pressed the button!!!

Apparently Puffin Island used to have thousands of puffins living and nesting on it butmost were killed by rats. They exterminated all the rats after 99% of the puffins were killed in one year - there are now only about21 pairs left but they are increasing!

This is one of them!!
