Us
I spent another lazy day at home, going back and forth between the book I'm reading and the computer. I was busy monitoring this monster I created: 2 days ago, on a page about the students' strike, in a discussion between another writer, a student and me, the writer said we should create a page stating our degree of indebtedness, age, formation. I thought it was a brilliant idea, to give faces to the economical facts that are used by the government. So I created the page. 2 days later, we now have 500 members, and more than 80 testimonies of people who, like me, decided to study in university and faced debt and financial insecurity (oh, what a euphemism that word is!) The goal is to collect all those testimonies, and send them to people in power and parliament.
And on the other side of the computer screen was this "show" called "Nous" (Us). Boosted by Occupy Montreal, the students' strike, various social movements, we are now having a sort of "spring" (like the arab spring of last year, though a lot less violent), and about 75 speakers held this 12-hour long show with speeches that were inspiring and empowering. So I was following that.
A lazy day, but also a day full of promises...
