I wanted to push myself one more time to take a Portrait of a Stranger. This is Grant -- he works an ice cream truck at a local beach. He does a hopping business, knows the ingredients and calorie count of nearly every product (good thing in this crazy, litigious society), and seems to genuinely enjoy his work.

I got the title of this blip from a bumper sticker on his truck. He moved here from the former Soviet Union 15 years ago, but he's already an American icon.

Funny how the "strangers" I've asked to take portraits of no longer seem like strangers after I've met them and taken their photo.
