Bothy Break
Away for the weekned in Aviemore doing some walking.
This walk started at the Reindeer centre just outside Aviemore we then walked around the bottom of Queens Forrest to get to the Ryvoan Bothy at the foot of Meall a Bhuachaille for a short break before attempting the climb to the top of the hill.
Bothys were a simple shelter built for gardeners or workers on the old estates as places to stay or meet up. They were always kept unlocked even today. They are now maintained by volunteers but can also be used to stay overnight if needs be.
From the Bothy we went straight up to the top of Meall a Bhuachaille and then along the ridge via Creagan Gorm to Craiggowrie. From here it was all downhill via the Badaguish Outdoor Centre to the car.
Weather was horrid on the ridge with wind, rain and mist all the way. Glad to be down and back in the cabin after the 6.5 hrs and 11 miles.
This will be my entry for this weekend blip challenge of 'Break'
