Birds, bark & mess

Purpose for laying bark: to keep the weeds at bay, so that we, humans needn't do the weeding every week or so.

However, it doesn't prevent birds looking for food underneath the bark and making our path look like a battlefield in the process. I am having to sweep the path on a DAILY basis now.
