A day long year

Easter Sunday

"'Til on that Cross, as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again"

Happy Easter everyone.

Nick and I decided a few months back to spend our Easter Weekend with our immediate family; each other! So we have spent a lovely few days relaxing together in Newbury. On Friday Sian and Sam popped by which was lovely as it was the first time we've seen them since Sian left for South Africa back in October and since they got engaged- Was lovely to hear of all their exciting wedding plans.
Today, after having eating a lovely Sunday lunch of lamb chops, Nicholas and I went for a lovely stroll along the canal- a bit further up than we normally walk, and further up the canal than many of our other photos have been taken. We went for a stroll near Bucklebury (where Kate Middleton is from and where her family still live) and made friends with the swan you can see above, he was very friendly for a swan although Nick for some unknown reason wouldn't let me pet him/her! Something to do with swans being able to break your arm...?!?! But seriously; does anyone know anybody who has had their arm broken by a Swan??? Half way round our walk we stopped off at a pub where we had dessert whilst watching the world go by; the swing bridge open and close every time a canal boat came along, the families on a Sunday afternoon walk and the cyclists speeding along the flat tow path- all with the backing track of the water rushing through the locks. As my mother would say 'how incredibly pleasant!;

This evening we went to our normal church service where we had the honour of witnessing the baptism of one of the young people (Wow, saying that makes me feel old, not so long ago I was one of those 'young people' and then one of the 'students' but now I'm just a normal adult in the church!) A baptism is always such an exciting event, incredibly symbolic and powerful. We sung the lyrics above at the service tonight and so I thought I'd share them with the world of blip as they're particularly relevant today. Happy Easter Blippers.

So all in all life's good :)
