Easter Sunday
It's Easter day, and another proud moment for our family. Very early this morning, not long after the sun came up on this most wonderful day of the year, my step-daughter Sarah-lea was baptised into the Christian faith at our church, St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in Glasgow. In this picture, you can see her getting a soaking from the Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway, the Right Revd. Gregor Duncan.
It's been a journey in faith for Sarah-Lea who was brought up in the Jewish faith. It's a journey that's been one of her own volition, and she's been helped on this by our wonderful clergy team, including Kelvin, Cedric, Chuks, and Caroline, many members of our congregation, and her school, Notre Dame high. Some of the staff here have helped to guide and advise her as she's made her own spiritual voyage of discovery.
Her mum and I would like to thank them all for their love and care as Sarah-Lea has made her way towards this morning's joyous event.
And what a wonderful day for a baptism- at the start of a day when long ago, a stone was rolled away to reveal that Christ, no longer dead, had risen from his tomb for us all. And if such a thing can happen, then hope must surely flood even the darkest corners of this world with the brightest of all lights:-)
A happy and joyous Easter day to you all.
