Do the villagers give food to the soldiers?

Portygirl had a box full of memories out today, her roots being Eire on the maternal side via the Isle of Skye and Northern Ireland on the paternal side,all originally converging in the West of Scotland.
We had great fun looking at old postcards including one of Renfrew High street (yes you heard right).
The little phrase book belonged to her Mum who in the early 1950's toured europe ending up in war ravaged Germany, with the helpful little book still reflecting the recent history.
