Ceiling in Basilica Santa Domenica, Bologna

So difficult to pick one picture from the day! I have some snaps of children chaing pigeons in the Piazza Maggiore but I thought this epitomised what we saw. The outside of all the churches was generally plain and unadorned but when you inside, every available space is covered with wonderful artwork. There was a statue by Michelangelo below this ceiling, just one of a number of carvings. Wonderful.
