Dishevelled Bob

I went up to the allotment for a brief recce and tidy up, managing to avoid the rain. As soon as I rounded the shed I heard a soft chitting sound and it was of course Bob who had sat on the ash stump to greet me (or, more likely, to ask where his pal DH had got to with the mealworms). He was looking a bit thin and scruffy to me and that mark or lesion just below his beak has got bigger. I looked up robins on the RSPB site; apparently their average life span is only a couple of years. :-( Still, he took an active interest in any soil I turned over. Perhaps he's just moulting.
