Achilles Tendonitis - A Cloud hanging over me!
I have been suffering from Achilles Tendonitis for over a year now, on the two occassions that I've been to see the Dr. about it, all I have ever got is pain killers (and not very good ones either). No further investigation, not even a proper examination, just a quick look and I am told to rest, well that's not really possible when you have a young family. So I've learned to live with the pain, and over the months have discovered if I go for short daily walks then I can grin and bear the pain on a daily basis. I have clearly over done the walking this weekend between the convention on Saturday and yesterday's walk to and around and back from Barry Mill. While walking downhill yesterday I felt a sharp stabbing pain in my calf and that has been me limping since then, last night I was in tears with the pain, and feeling very sorry for myself having had to live with this for so long. Sometimes I just wish they'd rupture completely so I can get some proper treatment and be pain free for a change.
Today, I've just taken it really easy and Aiden did some hoovering and Blaine kindly made supper/tea for us tonight; lebanese pasta which is a dish a friend in South Africa taught me to make when we were younger.
For those of you who don't know and care; Achilles tendonitis is a condition of irritation and inflammation of the large tendon in the back of the ankle. Overuse of the Achilles tendon can cause inflammation that can lead to pain and swelling.
