Lazy TTV

Such a lazy TTV. I have only made the one 'contraption'. Faced with a friend's wedding next weekend where I am supposed to shoot some awesome TTVs, I thought - 'I bet I can just take my 50mm and use that to make TTVs and great regular 50mm shots and then I won't have to change cameras or lenses or anything.' Fergus on the couch was my test subject tonight. I don't know...I don't know. Has anyone set up a TTV contraption to work with a 50mm non-macro lens like the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 that I have? Has anyone been not-lazy-enough to make more than one contraption? Advice? Help!
