Final day in Aviemore was meant to be a short walk starting at Lock Morlich and then heading along the paths towards Rothiemurchus Lodge.

On on of the T junctions we came across this fellow who was already quite irate due to some other walkers. He also took quite a shine to my black rucksack.

Having taken his photo and pinned him to the other side of the road we continued along the paths to the foot of Castle hill were we took the path towards the lodge.

After the lodge we were meant to follow the path along the foot of Castle hill towards Airgiod Meall., but the path never materialised. After walking for a bit further and with time getting on and emergency compass bearing was taken and a trip through the forrest towards Loch Morlich was undertaken.

Finally we emerged from the forrest on the ath around the Loch and headed back to the car. Another 1.5 mile and 2 hours longer than anticipated we started our journey home.
