C16th Journeyman's Camp - Scottish Border Reivers
Continuing from yesterday...
This is our day-camp in which we spent happy hours experimenting in dying loom-state linen, using plant materials, over an open fire.
If you're interested: The materials used were pre-steeped daffodil heads, trusty onion skins (never fails!), and pre-steeped birch bark.
The cloth was pre-mordanted with copper water/copper water & then a dairy dunk/no mordant - the pots used were all iron so lent their own quality to the process.
