If You Fill It, They Will Come
Last week, in an effort to create a new indoor diversion for the upcoming winter, I put up a couple of bird feeders outside my daughter's window. We waited patiently to be found. Within a week, however, I think every black-capped chickadee within a three-mile radius had come to feed at our "window cafe."
The chickadees are energetic and don't sit still for long. Mostly they just dine and dash. Maybe I'll capture one of their frequent food fights one of these days, but after looking at this photo, I realize I should probably think about cleaning the windows first!
