Brighouse Labour Exchange

An interesting stroll around Brighouse this afternoon, dodging the showers. I crossed the road by what is now the Jobcentre Plus Office - a Government agency that deals with work-related social security benefits and helps people into work. "JC+" is the latest title for what used to be known as the Labour Exchange. I was astonished by the carved sign above the door "Employers and Juveniles" - an odd sort of separation from the rest of the population.

Brighouse is a pleasant small town, with the Calder and Hebble Navigation near the centre and some interesting old buildings, some of which can be seen here.
