Leith Street footbridge
This footbridge spans Leith Street, leading from the St James's shopping centre to a car park on the other side of the road. Leith Street isn't in Leith, instead it's in the East End of central Edinburgh. I had been in John Lewis's, the largest shop in the St James's centre, looking at fitted kitchens and was in a bit of a daze after learning how much they cost. However, while I had been shut away the sun had come out and the temperature felt as though it had risen by about 10 degrees (centigrade), so something had got better! I think the kitchen might have to stay as it is for some time to come...
Apparently if all the metal tubes in this bridge were straightened out and placed end to end, they would stretch for nearly a mile. If you are interested in finding out a bit more about the bridge, here's a link.
