In defense of my children!
Making the most of the easter hols with my boys today.
Started off at Calderglen Country Park - miniature zoo, play park (mass pile up of children at bottom of slide - unfortunate), hike in woods (not sure what distance needs to be covered to turn a walk into a hike so I use the term loosely), picnic lunch and ice cream.
On to The David Livingstone Centre in Blantyre (yep, that's David getting his arm mauled by a lion). This place was tricky to find and I nearly found myself in the centre of Hamilton. I blame the roadworks. Anyway, not to worry, we found our way there eventually and enjoyed a wander around the museum, a play in the play park and a walk around the Explorer's Garden (this was definitely a walk and not a hike).
Have another day out planned for tomorrow so stopped off on the way home for picnic supplies.
I love the boys being on their holidays. There's been a number of occasions recently, particularly at supermarket checkouts, when someone will say 'I bet you'll be glad when the holidays are over'. They say this within ear shot of my children, fully expecting me to say something along the lines of 'Aye, they're a pain in the arse'. Well, checkout operators and others, I adore spending time with my children and they adore spending time with me. We make each other laugh, smile, sometimes cry, and they're the best company in the world, so up yours!
