Some Days

By Euphemist

Every Silver Lining...

... has a cloud!

After yesterday's all-day "shower" (the met office say that lots of showers joined together because of a "trough"... I would just call it uninterrupted rain!) today was positively balmy.

I spent most of the day in the walled garden at Archerfield, East Lothian, hoeing the new borders which have sprouted a huge crop of weeds, mostly couch-grass, wild turnip and black medic (not too sure about the last one, but we get loads of it), because of the recent wet, warm weather. We can't chemically treat them because of the large amount of herbaceous perennials and grasses, so hoe, hoe, hoe, as the Jolly Green Giant said.

Big big sky

This is the view south from Whitekirk, East Lothian, across to the Lammermuirs, with Traprain Law in the middle distance.
